PROJECT · REHABILITATION & MONITORING

A Harris's Hawk flew free again

Harris's Hawk equipped with a BioTagLab 4G/LTE solar tracker

After undergoing care and rehabilitation, a Harris's Hawk was released at the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. The release was carried out together with the Reserve, the Buenos Aires City Ecopark and Fundación Caburé-i.

Before returning to the wild, the bird was fitted with a BioTagLab 4G/LTE solar tracker. The information collected will reveal its movements and support this new stage after release.

Post-release monitoring helps evaluate its adaptation to the environment and creates useful knowledge for future rehabilitation and conservation efforts. Release is not the end of the work: it also marks the beginning of monitoring.
