After undergoing care and rehabilitation, a Cocoi Heron was released at the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve. The release was carried out together with the Reserve, the Buenos Aires City Ecopark and Fundación Caburé-i.
Before returning to its environment, the bird was fitted with a BioTagLab 4G/LTE solar tracker. The device will reveal its movements and support this new stage with information collected after release.
Post-release monitoring provides evidence about its adaptation to the environment and helps us understand what happens when a rehabilitated animal regains its freedom. Conservation does not end at release: it continues through data.
